Friday,Saturday & Sunday July 18-20, 2014

Friday & Saturday July 18 & 19 two days of rain. Lloyd and Sandy are close aboard anchored in the bay. We join them for coffee and we talk and talk and talk and had a good time.  Back to OA to check out the repair on the trim work on the pilot house roof as water has made its way into the cabin. It has been thundering down with rain and it wants to join us inside were its warm. It’s about 7.00pm and the rain has just stopped.

"Oceanaire" in Morehouse
Sunday July 20 Lloyd and Sandy are under way and leave to venture north and we are a little itchy to move on too .We plot a course for Morehouse Bay which is only about 3 miles away.

It is a large bay with a labyrinth of islands and with lotsof small inlets. We work our way around some shallow spots into a back of the bay with a view of a tidal basin and a small river entering on the one side. We hope this will be a good anchorage to view wildlife.

Eagle Eye On Us

The sun is now warm and how soon we forget the thunder of the rain on the roof. An eagle is sweeping the tidal flats for a possible treat as he eyes a fish finning the surface of the bay. The fish eludes his talons and the raptor wings his way high up on to an old cedar snag and protest his rage in eagle talk at the missed meal.

Chevy's After the Intruder on Top of the Rocks

We gunk the entire bay and return to OA for Martinis on the front deck. Hit the sack.
